Leading global automaker Tata Motors’ stock fell about 5% in early trading today to reach ₹1,090 per share. Despite the firm reporting a good set of figures for the June quarter, the sharp increase in shares resulted in profit booking, putting selling pressure on the stock.

Furthermore, the management expressed cautious optimism for the remainder of FY25. They expect constrained production for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in the second and third quarters because of the yearly summer plant shutdown and problems with the supply chain caused by floods at a significant aluminum supplier.

Regarding the domestic market, the company expects demand to gradually improve over the remaining months of the year as a result of ongoing infrastructure improvements, good monsoons, favourable macroeconomic conditions and festive demand.

Tata Motors’ share rose to a new high of Rs 1,179.05 on the BSE today, Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Tata Motors’ share price jumped 5% on the BSE in intraday trading, extending its four-day upward trend in hopes of excellent operational performance.

The Tata Group’s automobile division saw an 18% increase in stock price in the last week following a ‘Buy’ rating and target price of Rs 1,294 per share for Tata Motors by brokerage firm Nomura.

The share price of Tata Motors has risen 51% so far in 2024, outperforming the market, while the BSE Sensex is up by only 12%.

Leading automaker Tata Motors produces a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, utility vehicles and defence vehicles. It dominates the Indian commercial vehicle industry and has a joint venture (JV) with Fiat to manufacture automobiles, engines and gearboxes for the local market.

Following an upgrade from Japanese brokerage company Nomura, shares of Tata Motors, a major global automaker, jumped 6% to reach a new all-time high of ₹1,084.90 per share in today’s session.

Nomura has raised its target price for the company from ₹1,141 to ₹1,294 and changed its rating from “Neutral” to “Buy.” The potential gain from the stock’s previous closing price of 26% is reflected in this new target.

The brokerage said that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is anticipated to remain competitive in the face of increasing competition due to Tata Motors’ plan to shift the brand from premium to luxury categories. It stated that JLR’s incentives for Land Rover have remained well-controlled, in contrast to trends seen with other OEMs.

As of 12:55 pm, Tata Motors shares were trading 4.94 % higher at Rs 1,078.50.

Tata Motors jumped 2.07% to Rs 1,014.30 following the automaker’s Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) wholesale volume rose 5% YoY to 97,755 units in Q1 FY25.

Retail sales increased by 9% year over year to 111,180 units during the quarter (including the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV).

The company stated that the new body shop in Solihull, West Midlands, expanding manufacturing capacity, was the reason behind the 22% YoY and 46% YoY increases in wholesales of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in Q1 FY25.

As part of the company’s Reimagine strategy, which focuses on value, the overall mix of the most lucrative Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender models climbed to 68% of total wholesale volumes.
