The share price of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., or RVNL, climbed by more than 4% in early trading on Tuesday following a few positive developments for the railway PSU company. On the BSE, RVNL shares increased by as much as 4.6% to ₹601.75 per.

The previous session saw an 11% increase in RVNL shares, which was driven by strong buying activity in railway companies.

RVNL shares will be included in the MSCI India Index, among six other stocks. MSCI announced in its August reshuffle that Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, Vodafone Idea, Dixon Technologies (India), Oil India, Oracle Financial, Prestige Estates and Zydus Lifesciences had been added to the India index, which is part of the MSCI Global Standard Index.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.’s shares fell 4.5% on Thursday following the company’s announcement of its June quarter results during market hours. This Friday, the shares are down more than 4%.

At ₹224 crore, the net profit for the quarter decreased 34% from the previous year.

With ₹4,074 crore in revenue for the quarter, it reported 27% less than the ₹5,571.6 crore it recorded in the same quarter last year.

Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) for RVNL fell by 48% to ₹182 crore, almost halving from the previous year. The EBITDA margin also shrank by 180 basis points, from 6.3% to 4.5%.

August has seen a 13% decrease in RVNL shares thus far. After five months of gains in a row, the stock is seeing its first monthly decline. After August, the share price only fell 20% in February, following a 75% increase in January of this year.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. shares are trading up more than 2%, having recovered strongly from Thursday’s session lows ahead of the company’s June quarter earnings announcement.

Despite the company getting a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a project worth Rs 191.53 crore from South Eastern Railway, RVNL shares saw a decline of about 2% per cent on July 25.

The project, according to a regulatory filing from the company, is for  “Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 132 KV Traction Substation, Sectioning post (SPs), and Sub sectioning post (SSPs) in 2x25KV System on Rajkhaswan- Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway to meet 3000MT loading target on EPC mode.”

It is worth mentioning that RVNL was one of the multibagger railway companies that fell sharply after the Union Budget 2024 due to a lack of focus on the industry.

The stock prices of RVNL, Ircon International, IRFC, RailTel and other companies significantly declined as a result of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget speech, which barely mentioned the railway industry, despite investors’ expectations of significant backing for railroads.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. shares rose 7% on Friday. The stock has also ended its four-day losing run.

The company informed the exchanges on Friday afternoon that the arbitration tribunal provided an award of ₹584.22 crore, ruling in favour of the Krishnapatnam Railway Company Ltd., a Special Purpose Vehicle initiated by the Rail Vikas Nigam.

This award was meant to resolve a dispute between the Krishnapatnam Railway Company and the Ministry of Railways. KRCL had 49.76% of the joint venture.

Soon after, the company made another announcement that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s United Construction Ltd., Israel, to collaborate on projects in the fields of irrigation, power transmission and distribution, solar and wind energy, roads (highways & expressways), tunnels, building works, airports and ports.

The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a project of Rs 132.6 crore from Central Railway for OHE modification work in Nagpur division, which led to an increase in share price. The order will be executed during the following 24 months.

In an exchange filing on Friday, the company stated, “It is hereby informed that Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received Letter of Acceptance from Central Railway for “OHE modification work for Up-gradation of existing 1 x 25 kV Electric Traction System to 2 x 25 kV AT Feeding System in Wardha-Ballarshah Section in Nagpur division of Central Railway to meet 3000 MT loading target.”

RVNL reached an all-time high on the BSE on Tuesday (July 9, 2024) after the railway PSU completed a Rs 827 crore block deal in the morning.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) shares increased by as much as 6.26% on Friday, reaching a new 52-week high of Rs 445 a share.

The share price increased after the company’s announcement that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC).

“RVNL has signed MoU with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) for participation in the upcoming projects in India and abroad as project service provider for metro/ railways/ high speed rail/ highways/ mega bridges/ tunnels/ institutional buildings/ workshops or depots/ S&T works/ Railway electrification,” the state-owned company stated in an exchange filing.

According to the order details, RVNL and DMRC will work together to provide services for metro systems, railroads, high-speed rail, highways, big bridges, tunnels, institutional buildings, workshops, or depots, as well as signaling and telecommunication projects and railway electrification, both in India and abroad.

A day after the KRDCL-RVNL JV obtained a letter of acceptance (LoA) for a project worth Rs 156.47 crore from Southern Railway, shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) increased on Thursday, June 27. In morning deals RVNL shares increased by about 2% on the NSE to reach the day’s high of Rs 417.

The railway PSU stated that it has got an order from Southern Railway for automatic signalling work on the Ernakulam JN (ERS) – Vallattol Nagar (VTK) stretch on the B-Route of Thiruvananthapuram Division under Southern Railway. The deal is for Rs 156 crore and would be completed in 750 days.
