<p>As of 9:15 a.m. IST, the S&amp;P BSE Sensex gained 0.72% to 80,013.77 points, while the NSE Nifty 50 was up 0.7% at 24,291.75 points.</p>
<p>The 30-stock Sensex has reached the 80,000 mark for the first time.</p>
<p>With a 3.5% opening gain, HDFC Bank led the Nifty 50 upward.</p>
<p>Foreign institutional investors&#8217; holdings in HDFC Bank fell below 55% in the June quarter, according to data released after market hours on Tuesday, increasing the likelihood of a rise in weightage in global index provider Morgan Stanley&#8217;s MSCI indexes.</p>
<p>All 13 key sectors recorded increases. The rise in HDFC Bank-powered banks, financials and private banks is 1.3%-1.5% higher.</p>

<p>Benchmark indexes reached new highs in today&#8217;s session, with the Nifty 50 breaking above the 23,900 barrier for the first time to reach 23,974 points, approaching the 24,000 level. At roughly 12:15 IST, the Nifty reached 24,000 points. The Nifty 50 needed 23 sessions to get from 23,000 to 24,000 level.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the Sensex reached a new all-time high of 79,013 points, breaking above the 79,000 barrier for the first time.</p>
<p>Among individual shares, five Nifty 50 constituents, UltraTech Cement, Grasim Industries, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank, reached new 52-week highs today. Cement stocks are now dominating, with UltraTech Cement rising 4.3% and Grasim Industries up 2.6%.</p>

The huge rise was supported by rises in metal, IT, banking and metal stocks. The wider NSE Nifty index increased by 155 points to reach an all-time high of 23,420, while the 30-share BSE Sensex pack surged more than 500 points to reach a day high of 76,968. The growth of the domestic bourses was so great that the BSE&#8217;s market capitalization (m-cap) increased by almost Rs 2.8 lakh crore.</p>
<p>The top gainers among the 30 Sensex companies were Reliance Industries, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Power Grid and HCL Technologies. Among the laggards were Titan, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank and Hindustan Unilever.</p>
<p>The BSE benchmark fell 33.49 points, or 0.04 percent, to 76,456.59 on Tuesday, while the Nifty edged up 5.65 points, or 0.02 percent, to 23,264.85.</p>

<p>HUL, Nestle India, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, UltraTech Cement, Titan and Bajaj Finance were the biggest losers on the Sensex 30.</p>
<p>Wednesday witnessed a significant increase in the Indian stock market as confidence increased when it was confirmed that the NDA will form the government for a third time in a row.</p>
<p>Positive signals were seen in Asian markets, with the Euro Stoxx 50 futures jumping 1.5%, Japan&#8217;s Topix rising 0.5%, Australia&#8217;s S&amp;P/ASX 200 gaining 0.6%, and the Hang Seng futures rising 0.5%. Technology companies were the primary cause of the US S&amp;P 500 and Nasdaq indices reaching record closing highs.</p>

After exit polls suggested that the BJP-led alliance would probably win a two-thirds majority in the lower house, the benchmarks rose more than 3% on Monday, setting records and having their strongest session in almost 40 months.</p>
<p>Early indications indicate that the INDIA  bloc has 213 seats, whereas the NDA now has 288 seats.</p>
<p>State Bank of India, Reliance, Larsen &amp; Toubro, Power Grid, NTPC and HDFC Bank were the biggest laggards among the 30 companies on the Sensex.</p>

<p>The Sensex began 2,621.98 points (3.55%) higher at 76,583.29, while the Nifty 50 opened at 23,337.90, up 807.20 points (3.58%). The Bank Nifty index surpassed the 50,000 level for the first time.</p>
<p>A strong increase was observed everywhere, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indexes rising by around 3% each.</p>
<p>With the exception of the Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Oil &amp; Gas, Nifty Auto and Nifty Metals, all sectoral indices saw huge rises of 1-4% during trading.</p>
<p>More than 400 seats have been predicted for the NDA by three major exit polls, India Today-My Axis India, India TV-CNX and News24-Todays Chanakya. Less than 200 seats are expected to be won by the opposition INDIA alliance, according to pollsters.</p>
<p>In May, the Nifty 50 and Sensex ended their three-month winning streak, closing in negative territory due to increased volatility caused by election-related uncertainty. The volatility index India VIX increased by 91% in May.</p>
