Gold and silver prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Monday, July 29, 2024. On the MCX, gold futures with a maturity date of August 5, 2024, were trading at Rs 68,465 per 10 grams following a gain of Rs 279, or 0.41 percent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 68,186.
In the meantime, silver futures maturing on September 5, 2024 rose by Rs 640, or 0.79 percent, to Rs 82,011 a kg on the MCX, up from Rs 81,371 at the previous close.
Gold and silver prices in major cities
New Delhi: In New Delhi, the price of 22-carat gold is Rs 6,339 per gram. The silver price in the capital city is Rs 84,400 per kilogram.
Mumbai: In Mumbai, the price of 22-carat gold is Rs 6,324 per gram. Silver in Mumbai is trading at Rs 84,400 per kilogram, matching the price in New Delhi.
Kolkata: In Kolkata, 22-carat gold is priced identically to Mumbai at Rs 6,324 per gram. The silver price in Kolkata is also the same as in Mumbai and New Delhi, at Rs 84,400 per kilogram.
Chennai: Chennai shows the highest gold price among the four cities, with 22-carat gold costing Rs 6,464 per gram. The southern city also has the highest silver price, with the precious metal trading at Rs 88,900 per kilogram.
