Gold and silver prices increased on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Monday, July 22, 2024. On the MCX, gold futures with a maturity date of August 5, 2024, were trading at Rs 73,176 per 10 grams, up Rs 186 or 0.25 percent. At Rs 72,990, the previous closing was noted.

In the meantime, silver futures maturing on September 5, 2024 rose by Rs 38, or 0.04 percent, to Rs 89,684 a kg on the MCX, up from Rs 89,646 at the previous close.

Gold and silver prices in major cities

New Delhi: In New Delhi, the price of 22-carat gold is Rs  6,794 per gram. The silver price in the capital city is Rs 91,400 per kilogram.

Mumbai: In Mumbai, the price of 22-carat gold is Rs  6,794 per gram. Silver in Mumbai is trading at Rs 91,400 per kilogram, matching the price in New Delhi.

Kolkata: In Kolkata, 22-carat gold is priced identically to Mumbai at Rs  6,794 per gram. The silver price in Kolkata is also the same as in Mumbai and New Delhi, at Rs  91,400 per kilogram.

Chennai: Chennai shows the highest gold price among the four cities, with 22-carat gold costing Rs 6,834 per gram. The southern city also has the highest silver price, with the precious metal trading at Rs 95,900 per kilogram.
