The price of 24-carat gold fell Rs 10 in early trading on Monday, July 1, with ten grams of the precious metal selling for Rs 72,270, as per the GoodReturns website. Silver dropped in price by Rs 100 as well; one kilogram of the precious metal now sells for Rs 89,900.

The price of 22-carat gold also dropped by Rs 10, with the yellow metal trading at Rs 66,240.

Gold and silver prices in major cities

10 grams of 24-carat gold in Mumbai costs Rs 72,270, which is similar to the pricing in Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Ten grams of 24-carat gold cost Rs 72,410, Rs 72,270 and Rs 72,290 in Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai, respectively.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold cost Rs 66,240 in Mumbai, which is similar to prices in Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold cost Rs 66,390, Rs 66,240, and Rs 66,840 in Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai, respectively.

At Rs 89,900, a kilogram of silver costs the same in Delhi as it does in Mumbai and Kolkata.

In Chennai, the price of one kilogram of silver was Rs 94,400.
