The prices of gold and silver increased on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Gold futures, which will mature on October 4, 2024, were up Rs 35, or 0.05 percent, on the MCX and were trading at Rs 69,000 per 10 grams. At Rs 68,965, the previous closure was noted.
The retail price of silver futures, which will mature on September 5, 2024, was Rs 79,148 per kg on the MCX, a small increase of Rs 248 or 0.31 percent, from the previous closing of Rs 78,900.

New Delhi: A gram of 22-carat gold costs Rs 6,364 in New Delhi. The cost per kilogram of silver in the nation’s capital is Rs 81,900.
Mumbai: In Mumbai, 22-carat gold costs Rs 6,349 per gram. Similar to New Delhi, the price of silver per kilogram in Mumbai is Rs 81,900.
Kolkata: 22-carat gold costs the same in Kolkata as it does in Mumbai: Rs 6,349 per gram. The silver price in Kolkata is the same as in Mumbai and New Delhi: Rs 81,900 per kilogram.
Chennai: In Chennai, 22-carat gold costs Rs 6,329 per gram. The southern city has the highest silver price, with the precious metal trading at Rs 86,900 per kilogram.
