The prices of silver and gold on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
On the MCX, gold futures with a maturity date of October 4, 2024, were trading at Rs 68,765 per 10 grams following a Rs 200, or 2.9%, drop. At Rs 68,965, the previous closure was noted.
Similarly, silver futures maturing on September 5, 2024, fell by Rs 223 or 0.29 percent to Rs 79,400 a kg on the MCX, down from Rs 79,623 at the previous closing.

New Delhi: In New Delhi, 22-carat gold costs Rs 6,404 per gram. The price of silver in the capital city is Rs 82,400 per kilogram.
Mumbai: In Mumbai, 22-carat gold costs Rs 6,389 per gram. The price of silver in Mumbai is Rs 82,400 per kilogram, which is the same as in New Delhi.
Kolkata: 22-carat gold costs the same in Kolkata as it does in Mumbai: Rs 6,389 per gram. The silver price in Kolkata is the same as in Mumbai and New Delhi: Rs 82,400 per kilogram.
Chennai: In Chennai, 22-carat gold costs Rs Rs 6,399 per gram. The southern city has the highest silver price, with the precious metal trading at Rs 87,400 per kilogram.
