Gold and silver prices increased on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Gold futures, which will mature on August 5, 2024, were up Rs 114 or 0.16 percent on the MCX and were trading at Rs 73,585 per 10 grams. At Rs 73,471, the previous closure was noted.

In the meanwhile, silver futures, which will mature on September 5, 2024, saw a slight increase of Rs 327, or 0.35 percent, and were trading on the MCX at Rs 92,899 per kg.

Gold and silver prices in major cities

New Delhi: In New Delhi, the price of 22-carat gold is Rs 6,764 per gram. The silver price in the capital city is Rs 95,100 per kilogram.

Mumbai: In New Mumbai, the price of 22-carat gold is Rs 6,749 per gram. Silver in Mumbai is trading at Rs 95,100 per kilogram, matching the price in New Delhi.

Kolkata: In Kolkata, 22-carat gold is priced identically to Mumbai at Rs 6,749 per gram. The silver price in Kolkata is also the same as in Mumbai and New Delhi, at Rs 95,100 per kilogram.

Chennai: Chennai shows the highest gold price among the four cities, with 22-carat gold costing Rs 6,784 per gram. The southern city also has the highest silver price, with the precious metal trading at Rs 99,600 per kilogram.
